Belle and John
Belle's doing great. Her new name is Jane (Sweet Baby Jane
when she's snuggling). She's really settling in and nobly
assuming her role as second in command of the household.
I'm using a training collar, and she learned to heel in about
five minutes. She's also enjoyed lots of 15-foot leash running
by the river and in the woods. We've made two two-hour
visits to a ten acre, enclosed dog park in Ann Arbor where
she's very popular. Her best friends are a three-year-old
puggle named Pelu and a one-year-old basset named Baxter.
She sleeps in bed with me and snores and hates getting up in
the morning. She stays in bed a full half hour after I get up,
stretching, scratching, napping. She loves raw veggies, so
we've been snacking on carrots, celery, and cucumbers, and
disemboweling stuffed animals is her favorite indoor game.
Did I mention she's a great watchdog? She lets me know
every time someone is at the house Life is good!

Take care,
John

Cheeto with Jamie and Dale
Well, we’ve made it through our first two weeks and Cheeto is
doing great. He runs around the house like he owns the place.
His little personality is really starting to shine through. He
loves playing fetch with his toys and chewing on his bones.
His favorite toy is a squeaky squirrel. He is hilarious running
(hopping) across the room with it. He always has to grab it
right by the squeaky part and bounce it off the floor all the
way back to get the maximum squeak effect.

Take care,

Jamie
Just wanted to let you know that Ranger is doing well in his
new home.  He is a great dog who loves to play a lot, go for
rides in the car and take walks to the park.  We love him lots!!!
Thank you for your generosity in giving him a temporary home
until he could find a new one.

Sincerely,

Tracey and Ernie
I wanted to let you know how Molly is doing in her new
home.  She has moved right in and absolutely adores Euan
and Ireland (the kids).  She sleeps under the bed in Ireland's
room or with Patrick and I if she's looking for a little more
peace and quiet.  She loves walking around the neighborhood
and has found lots of fun in our backyard with the chipmunks
and rabbits that come out.

Thank you so much for Molly - we absolutely love her!

Amanda
I can't thank you enough for the care and love you put into
your animals. My father, Phil is so happy with Angel. She is
everything and more than you wrote in the ad for her.  She is
so mellow and sweet. Everyone in the family has fallen in love
with her.  Everyone had a very happy afternoon and there
were a lot of pictures taken of the newest member of the
family. It has been a long time since I have seen my father
smile so much and it really shows in the pictures.  It was very
nice to meet you and I would recommend you to anyone
looking for an animal. If you were ever in need of references
from families that have adopted from you don't hesitate to ask
and we will spread the word about your world of pets in need.

Thanks again so very much,
Tammy
Just wanted to give you an update on Hank, who is now
called Jasper.  He's doing fantastic!!  He loves to run in the
yard and play tug-of-war with our boxer Bronxy.  Our labs are
warming up to him, but are still intimidated by his size.  He's
great with the kids and seems happy to be here!

Thanks again!

Denise
Hi - it's been a while since I updated you about Bear.

He and Sage have become inseparable.  They are always
playing together, underfoot together, snuggling together and
sleeping together.  They are practically Siamese-twins.

It has been so fun to watch them play and learn from each
other.  Bear has taught Sage to be patient, to come when
called and to be more calm at times.  Sage has taught Bear to
speak up for a treat, to dig holes in the back yard to make mud
splashing parties, and to tolerate the cat.
Riley with Joan and Ron
Just wanted to assure you Riley is doing great. He is smart,
attentative and wants to please. We usually don't attempt to
start training the day a new dog arrives but he is the
exception. He is clearly one of the nicest pups I have ever
dealt with. Thank God someone saw that and he came to you.

I think its a great thing you are doing and I do believe some of
us were put here just for this.

Riley- He is going to be a very happy pupper!
Thanks again
Janet
Trinket
I had been looking for a small dog for several weeks when I
spotted Trinket (now named Gracie).  Somehow I just knew
she was the one so I submitted my application and was
chosen to be Gracie's new pack leader.  She is a beautiful
blue/white Pomeranian whose coat had been trimmed short.

Gracie was very nervous/fearful and did not want to come out
of her crate but with patience and daily walks she is becoming
a happy, well-balanced dog (thanks Dog Whisperer for all
your advice).

I couldn't be happier to have such a wonderful companion to
accompany me on my daily walks.

Sincerely,
Kathy
Max and Allison
Hello! I am writing to update you on Jake, a.k.a. Max. We
adopted him from you back at the end of February.

We just wanted to let you know that he is doing great! He fits
right in with our family perfectly. We could not have asked for
a better dog than Max! He has especially taken to our 7 year
old daughter, Allison. They are the best of friends and they
are always together. Where you find one, you will always find
the other close by. I have attached a picture of Allison with
Max, so that you can see the love. We have all grown to love
this special little dog and we just wanted to thank you for
allowing us to adopt him. We are very happy with him and we
feel that he has become a valuable part of our family. We are
so happy that we ran across him when we did. We feel that we
are so lucky to have him!

Sincerely,
The Spangler Family
